What’s stored

Your trips with their route points, places, vehicles, odometer readings, expenses with receipt photos, and settings.

Where it’s kept

On this iPhone. While Store in iCloud is on, a copy of your log goes to your own iCloud once a day. Route points are not in that copy.

Receipt photos stay on this iPhone and are read here. They are not in the iCloud copy; Export everything and reports with expenses include them.

What leaves your iPhone

A copy of your log, to your own iCloud, while Store in iCloud is on. We can’t see it.

The start and end of each trip, to Apple’s address service, while Show addresses is on.

Places you type or pick on the map for a new trip, and the map around them, to Apple Maps, to measure the distance between them — also only while Show addresses is on.

Stops within a trip, to the same service, only while Stop addresses is on — it’s off until you turn it on. Other route points are not sent.

Which regions you download, to Geofabrik, when you download a road map in Settings → Trips — and once a week, a check whether newer ones are out. Your trips and places are not sent: the map is used on this iPhone.

What there isn’t

No account, no analytics, no ads, no third-party code and no servers of ours.

Your choices

Turn off Store in iCloud and nothing more is written to iCloud. You choose whether the copies already there are deleted.

Turn off Show addresses and no coordinates go to the address service.

Show maps is off until you turn it on. Off, no map is loaded.

No road map is downloaded until you choose a region.

Delete all data in Settings → Data removes your log from this iPhone.

Diagnostics

The app log and location events are sent only when you share them, after you see what’s inside. Location events include the coordinates of your drives.
